Betty Boop In Snow White

1933

Dave Fleischer, Roland Crandall

Shorts, Avant-Garde, Black & White

You almost certainly have seen footage from this short film on social media, it has become an iconic Spooktober video vibe.
The animation is incredible; the fluid and imaginative visuals, including the use of rotoscoping for Koko the Clown’s dance sequences was ground breaking.
The short is filled with surreal and whimsical elements, a veritable eye-gasm visually.
The humour will probably be lost on you, this piece of work is almost 100 years old.
The film features the voice of Mae Questel and the music of Cab Calloway, who performs “St. James Infirmary Blues” as Koko the Clown, and his performance adds a unique and haunting quality to the film.
