Are you ready for "The Rage Virus"?
This is THE film that really kicked off the 2000’s Zombie renaissance, a decade obsessed with zombies.
The beginning of the story is a little dumb, why didn’t they listen to the scientist trope??
Like most survival films, human nature is a theme as well as morality.
The film feels like a fever dream and a documentary at the same time; and the musical score and atmosphere really adds drama, a completely abandoned and eerie London.
This was the first film with really fast changing and moving zombies, starting a trend in the genre that would continue with films like 'I Am Legend' (2007), 'World War Z' (2013), and 'Train To Busan' (2016).
The constant action, intensity, camera work, and scares make this a thrilling film that will fill you with dread.
Is anyone going to survive???
Despite shutting down a whole city for filming, there was only a budget of 8 million.
Be sure to watch the sequel '28 Weeks Later' (2007) too, before the next sequel '28 Years Later' comes out in 2025.
Features a young Brendan Gleeson and Cillian Murphy, Megan Burns, Naomie Harris, Noah Huntley, and others.
*Trigger warning: cruelty to animals
