Annabelle

This spinoff in The Conjuring Universe gives us a great new story with one of the haunted artifacts from Ed & Lorraine Warren's vault.
We get two genres. not only is it a haunted artifact, it is also a doll, and boy is this not the ugliest and creepiest doll we have ever seen.
Seriously!? Who in the right mind would collect these dolls???
The film is quite scary, many nail biting scenes to send shivers down your spine, complimented by a good score, and some special effects, but we wish it went further.
We also wish the film had done a better job with characterization, and story, we don't get a chance to form an attachment to these characters.
Overall though, this is a fun scary film, especially if you have pediphobia (fear of dolls).
Good news if you enjoyed this film, there is a sequel and a prequel, both of which are slightly better.
We can't wait to see what other spinoffs we get from the Warren's vault of haunted artifacts.
