30 Days Of Night

This film is based on a comic book and follows the story of an isolated Alaskan town called Barrow, which experiences a month-long polar night when the sun sinks below the horizon.
The unique setting creates a great atmosphere, the perpetual darkness, snow, cold, and isolation of Barrow create a claustrophobic and eerie setting that heightens the tension.
We love how the vampires look, but also how they are depicted as brutal and primal predators, far removed from the more romanticized versions often seen in other media.
Hartnett delivers a solid performance, the score is good, and the film's action sequences are intense and visceral, with plenty of gore and gruesome moments that are sure to satisfy.
We do wish we got to know all of the characters better, the character development takes a backseat to the chaotic and bloody action scenes.
We also wish the film was a little scarier, but overall it's a great watch and addition to the vampire genre.
