A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors

1987

Russell Chuck

Must-See, Sequel, Slasher, Paranormal, Very Scary

Of the 9 films in this franchise, this is definitely one of the best, but you must watch the original film first.
We get a returning character in this sequel, besides the villain, Langenkamp reprises her role.
Set design and special effects are absolutely INCREDIBLE, they don't do things like this anymore because we have CGI now, but just appreciate how they pulled all of this off with only a few things that don't look as cool today.
We will never forget certain scenes from this film, and that is why it is a must-see near masterpiece, some pacing issues holds it back just a bit.
The acting is good and we get some decent characterization for a Slasher flick, great score to keep you on edge, but the star of this film is the dream sequences and the special effects used in them.
So fun and completely psychotic, you never know what is going to happen next in this scary mind bending film, a few jump scares too.
Unsettling fact: mental hospitals like that actually used to exist, they were like child prisons.
Features Heather Langenkamp, Patricia Arquette, Robert Englund, Craig Wasson, Ken Sagoes, Rodney Eastman, Jennifer Rubin, Bradley Gregg, Ira Heiden, Laurence Fishburne, John Saxon, Priscilla Pointer.

*Trigger warnings: suicide, forcible confinement, intravenous drug use
