Werewolves, Original, Not Scary, Must-See
This is a super fun werewolf flick with a cult following, we think it is a must-see classic and a welcome addition to the werewolf zeitgeist.
Like most werewolf films, coming-of-age and puberty are themes, but we also love how they depict big city suburban life at the far-flung reaches of sprawling Toronto.
Another theme, unusual to werewolf films, is feminism; something that is usually in witch films, even odder, the werewolves have characteristics we usually associate with vampires.
The film has great special effects gore and no CGI at all, but the acting is excellent too, be prepared to fall in love with these witchy goth sisters, great characterization.
We only wish this low-budget film had more money to work with.
There is a sequel we recommend watching and a very strange prequel set 200 years before this film that we don't recommend watching.
Features Emily Perkins, Katharine Isabelle, Kris Lemche, Mimi Rogers, Jesse Moss, and others.
