This is just such a cool and unique horror story, there has certainly never been anything like it, it is a must-see masterpiece.
In most of the film, 80's special effects gore is the star, so well done, still disgusting and disturbing today; we only wish they had left that one monster out of the story, you will know when you see it.
The script and acting are great, accompanied by an equally great score.
Clive Barker came up with a lot of the BDSM inspired elements from his time spent at gay leather bars.
