Don't go in there!!!
This very fun and scary must-see film isn't an anthology, but it plays out like one, with shorts inside the larger story; based on the books by Alvin Schwartz.
The film takes place at Halloween and has lots of great holiday imagery, set to a great soundtrack.
This is a classic haunted artifact story and we love it, so fresh and unique, maybe a bit of Tom Riddle vibes from 'Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets'.
We love all the 60's Americana, so much to take in and enjoy.
The acting is surprisingly good for a teen movie, sets are excellent and create a very creepy atmosphere, special effects and CGI are good; but we do wish they had a slightly larger budget because they do make it a little less scary.
Low on gore, but arachnophobes may want to skip this one.
Famed horror director, Guillermo Del Toro, helped write the script and you can really feel his style.
No word yet on whether there will be a sequel, but fingers crossed, this would make an excellent series.
Features Michael Garza, Austin Abrams, Gil Bellows, Zoe Colletti, Gabriel Rush, Natalie Ganzhorn, Austin Zajur, and others.
*Trigger warning: forcible confinement and torture, spiders.
