The Crow

This film based on a comic has a cult following, and for good reason; stunning sets, interesting cinematography, wicked costumes, unique gruesome deaths and crazy special effects.
We love the undertones of the time you can see in the film; societal decline, crime, and urban decay.
Oddly, the film is set in Detroit in the year 2037 but basically made zero attempts at futurizing anything.
The story was written by a man dealing with the loss of his wife to a drunk driver.
Tragically, the lead actor Brandon Lee was killed on set by prop gun just before filming wrapped.
A remake starring Bill Skarsgard is going to be released in 2024.
