The Exorcism Of Emily Rose

This is the original paranormal legal drama film and we really love the ground breaking combo of horror and court room, a unique mix of genres.
We think this film is a bit over-rated, not that it is bad, but much better films with demonic possession have been released, particularly 'The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It' (2021) which has a similar plot.
Science vs religious faith is a major theme, and it is perhaps a bit difficult to wrap your head around the plot if you are not from a highly religious country like The United States.
The film has some scary moments, really great body horror, but overall it is more intriguing than scary, and the slow pace doesn't help the intensity.
Laura Linney is the star of the film, giving another incredible performance as you would expect.
